My name is Ace and I am Archiphile. The meaning behind the blog’s title is that anything that ends with the suffix -phile means that one has a strong affinity for that subject. It’s what you put in the front of the suffix that makes the word so an archiphile is someone who loves architecture!
I’m 17 years old, I’m the dude in the photo. Ever since I moved to Hong Kong in 2003, I had become very interested in buildings. I would often go out just to stare at buildings and would end up going home with a stiff neck. I love Hong Kong, even though I’ve lived here for so many years, this city never fails to impress me.
And then I found the internet. I went crazy when I found out there were hundreds, thousands of amazing buildings from other countries. Soon enough, I’ve made a list of my favorite architects. And that list continues to grow even today. If you were curious, my Top 3 are Bjarke Ingels, Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry.
Tumblr is a great platform for people like me. It keeps me up to date with the latest architecture news and styles. And I basically use Archiphile as a way to share these to everyone. So, go and explore this blog because it’s got a lot to show you!
